the end is nigh

well, not super nigh, but it's coming. only about two months until A.P.E. and this is the first time in months and months that i've felt like there even WAS an end to all this.

guest teaching for Barron Storey

heyo,

so Friday was the fated day when my pal Michael and i got to substitute teach Barron's pre-college illustration class. this is the third time we've had the opportunity to do this and each time is more rewarding than the last. the kids this year were so much more energetic than previous years (with the exception of our young friend and future superstar Minnie) and had tons of questions and overall seemed genuinely pumped to hear most of what we had to say.

if any of our students happen upon the blahg here, let me apologize now if i don't recognize you when you see me around. getting in front of a bunch of people you've never seen before and trying to convince them to listen to things you have to say is nerve-wracking!!

this week i've finally begun scanning the pages that are totally finished, and resolved to finish the pages that i've left unfinished (which, as i discovered last night, there are quite a few of :'( . . . )

i keep a small Moleskine watercolor book in my back pocket most of the time in case i get stuck somewhere and need to do some doodling. despite being a watercolor book, i've only ever painted in it twice and actually spend most of my time writing creepy little messages to myself instead of drawing

tidal wave

hey everybody,

just wanted to let you all know that i'm still out here busting my butt to get my book done by A.P.E. and everything's going. . . alright. i could complain all day and all night and most of the next day about my day-job and my dwindling social life, but i'd rather show you a picture of a comic page i'm working on and hope that my naive enthusiasm can keep me going
